This abstract sculpture is loosely inspired by the ocean. It is constructed from wheel-thrown parts. I threw a dome and cut the bottom out, manipulated some areas, and attached two thrown rings to create the waves. I punctured some holes in the form and smoothed out the joins. The glazing process involved sponging on of multiple different glazes in layers to create more dimension of color. It can function as a luminary with a fake candle or light, or as a sculptural centerpiece. It is about 4 inches tall. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
